Wat Poramai Yikawat, formerly known as "Wat Pak Ao", has its name in Mon language "Pia Mu Kia Teng" means Wat Hua Laem. It is an old temple since the late Ayutthaya period as appears the Mutao Pagoda, which is a Mon-shaped chedi. Currently, it is located next to the river bank, eroding its foundations, making the stupa look slanted which is a symbol of the temple since ancient times Later, in the Thonburi period and early Rattanakosin; more and more of Mon people migrated to settle down on the island. This temple is the center of the community, and the place where the Mon traditions and rituals are held on Koh Kret And, at the pier in front of the temple, you will find a wooden castle of Ha Yod, which used to house the Mon coffin of the former abbot standing.
